Links Leaders is an honor-system golf achievement tracker. This page explains what information the app collects, why, and how you can control or delete it.
Links Leaders is built to work with as little personal information as possible. Here's exactly what's collected and why:
Every player gets an anonymous account identifier the first time the app opens, so your progress can sync to the cloud. If you choose to link an email/password, Google, or Apple sign-in, we also store the email address associated with that method, so you can recover your account on a new device.
The username you pick is shown on leaderboards and to friends. It's public by design.
With your permission, the app uses your device's GPS for the on-course rangefinder — distance to the green, tracking which hole you're on, and the "Set Tee"/"Set Pin" tools. Location is used live in the app and is not sold or shared with advertisers.
If you submit a "Request This Course Be Mapped" request, you can attach a photo (via your camera or photo library) to help us map the course. This is entirely optional and only used for that request.
Achievements, scores, saved courses, your home course, and your bag of clubs are stored so your progress carries across devices.
Your friend code and friend list let other players connect with you. Friend requests store the two accounts involved so requests can be shown, accepted, or removed.
If you report a bug or suggest a community achievement, the text you write (along with your username) is stored and, for bug reports, forwarded to us by email so we can follow up.
Links Leaders is built on Firebase (Google Cloud) for accounts, data storage, and photo uploads, and uses Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple as optional sign-in methods. Map and course data come from Esri, OpenStreetMap, and public golf-course data sources — these services see the course coordinates or names needed to draw a map or look up a scorecard, not your personal account information. Bug report emails are relayed through EmailJS. None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own purposes beyond providing that service to us.
From the Account panel in the app, you can at any time:
Links Leaders is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
